AOT - Eren and Mikasa

Remember… young Mikasa saying she is cold and has nowhere to return to, and Eren wrapping his own scarf around her? Her parents have just been murdered. She sits terrified in the kidnappers’ cabin when Eren comes to rescue her. He kills two attackers, but a third grabs him by the throat. This time, Mikasa acts: urged to fight, she takes the knife and saves his life. The danger passes, but her family is still gone. When Grisha finds them, Mikasa does not know where to go. Eren approaches and wraps his scarf around her, asking whether it feels warm. Grisha offers her a home with their family, and Eren calls her to come with them. Years later, wounded and surrounded by Titans, Mikasa thanks him for that scarf. Only then does Eren promise to wrap it around her as many times as she needs. One small gesture connects these moments. As children, Eren gives Mikasa a reason to feel that she belongs somewhere. Years afterward, her gratitude helps him rise from despair. The hope he once gave her returns to him through her words.
