Call of Duty - Warzone

Remember… Verdansk being destroyed by a nuclear blast in Warzone, turning a familiar battlefield into history? In April 2021, the zombie outbreak spread beyond containment. Infection reached different parts of the city, and attempts to stop it failed. Players who normally fought one another became witnesses to Verdansk’s final moments. On April 21, a nuclear missile was launched. A blinding explosion consumed the city, covering streets, buildings, and locations where players had fought hundreds of battles. The action then shifted to Rebirth Island at night, where hidden messages and clues prepared players for the event’s next stage. The following day, players experienced events set before the missile launch. Squads competed to secure a device and hold it long enough to trigger the nuclear strike. Verdansk’s destruction appeared again—but this time, the cinematic rewound history. Players then deployed into Verdansk in 1984. This was a look into the city’s past, with different buildings, construction sites, and a Cold War setting across familiar terrain. Verdansk’s destruction became a dramatic transition into a new season, bringing Warzone more closely into the era of Black Ops Cold War.
