Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze

Remember… Denji and Reze fighting each other, when only days before they were swimming together and exploring a school? Reze enters Denji’s life unexpectedly. With her, he experiences the kind of simple happiness he has rarely known. But on the night of the fireworks, the truth comes out: Reze wants Denji’s heart. She has the power of the Bomb Devil, and she begins her assault. Explosions tear through the city streets. Denji transforms into Chainsaw Man, while Reze propels herself through the air with blasts and attacks from every direction. The Typhoon Devil joins her. Denji climbs onto Beam in his shark form, and together they charge into battle, the roar of chainsaws cutting through the storm. After defeating Typhoon, Denji and Reze face each other near the water. One of her blasts damages Denji’s arm, but he uses the chain looped around it to seize her. Holding Reze close, he plunges into the sea, where she can no longer use her explosions. Later, they wake on the shore. Despite everything, Denji has saved her. Reze tells him that their time together was part of her plan. Denji still asks her to run away with him—he remembers that she taught him how to swim. As she leaves, he tells her he’ll wait at the café if she changes her mind. Beneath the violence, they are still the boy and girl who briefly dreamed of an ordinary life together.
