Demon slayer - Gyu Tomioka 3D panel

Remember… Giyu Tomioka confronting Tanjiro and Nezuko on a snowy mountainside? Tanjiro had returned to find his family slaughtered. Only Nezuko was still breathing. He carried her downhill, searching for help, but she transformed into a demon and attacked him. He held his hatchet’s handle between her teeth, pleading with her to remember him. Then Giyu appeared, his sword aimed at Nezuko. Tanjiro pulled her out of its path, but Giyu seized her and explained that she was now a demon. Tanjiro knelt in the snow and begged for her life. Giyu answered harshly: pleading would not protect his sister. Tanjiro rose and attacked. Giyu knocked him unconscious, then noticed the missing hatchet. Tanjiro had thrown it overhead before charging, using himself as a distraction. Giyu dodged the descending blade. Then Nezuko broke free. He expected her to devour her defenseless brother. Instead, she shielded Tanjiro and attacked Giyu to protect him. That changed his decision. He spared Nezuko and directed Tanjiro to Sakonji Urokodaki. Their journey began when a demon slayer witnessed something his experience told him was impossible: a demon choosing her brother’s safety over her hunger.
