Demon Slayer - Tanjiro Kamado

Remember… when Rui’s blood-red threads close around Tanjiro, and his father’s old dance becomes his way forward? His sword is broken. Water Breathing is no longer enough. Nezuko hangs unconscious in the threads, while the tightening cage leaves Tanjiro moments from death. Then he remembers his father dancing in the snow—a frail man who could keep moving throughout the night. The secret was his breathing. Tanjiro changes his breath. Hinokami Kagura: Dance. The imagery of flowing water gives way to arcs of flame. His broken blade cuts through the threads as he races toward Rui. He cannot stop: the strain of switching techniques will soon leave him unable to move. He approaches Rui’s neck, knowing the surrounding threads could cut him down too. He commits to the strike. Meanwhile, Nezuko hears their mother urging her to wake and save her brother. Her eyes open. Blood scattered across the threads ignites. Blood Demon Art: Exploding Blood. The flames destroy the threads threatening Tanjiro. Her blood burns along his broken blade as he completes the slash. Their parents’ memories have become part of their resistance. Against Rui’s coercive imitation of family, brother and sister protect each other without hesitation.
