Evangelio Eva-01

Remember... when Shinji's first battle nearly ended in defeat, but then Eva-01 stood up on its own? On the streets of Tokyo-3, Shinji takes control of the giant body for the very first time. Standing before him is the Angel Sachiel. The boy tries to take a step, but loses his balance, sending the Eva crashing face-first into the asphalt. Sachiel approaches. It grabs the Eva by the face, breaks its left arm, and delivers a devastating blow that pierces its head. Inside the cockpit, Shinji screams in pain — he can feel the machine's injuries in his own body. Then the connection is lost. At NERV headquarters, the operators stare at their screens, but there is no response from the pilot. Then, the Eva moves. It opens its mouth and lets out a terrifying roar. Its fallen body rises onto all fours before launching itself toward Sachiel. The clumsiness of its earlier movements is gone; every attack is now swift and brutal. Sachiel raises its protective AT Field. The Eva regenerates its broken arm, activates its own field, and tears through the barrier with its bare hands. It throws its opponent to the ground, breaks its arms, and attacks the red core in its chest. Sachiel makes one final move: it wraps itself around the Eva and self-destructs. A massive cross-shaped explosion rises above the city. From the smoke, Eva-01 emerges, still standing. Shinji won the battle, but he wasn't the one controlling the victory. And this is where the first terrifying suspicion begins: beneath the armor is a living being with a will of its own — and once it awakens, humanity can no longer stop it.
