Final Fantasy X

Remember… Yunalesca asking Yuna which of her guardians she will sacrifice in the ruins of Zanarkand? Her pilgrimage has led here. She expected to receive the power to defeat Sin. Instead, one companion must become the fayth for her Final Aeon, just as Jecht did for Braska. The cost extends beyond losing a friend. The Final Summoning will kill Yuna, too, and the peace it brings will be temporary. Yu Yevon will possess the victorious aeon, creating another Sin. Yunalesca waits for her choice. Yuna answers: no one. She had been willing to die for Spira. Now she refuses to keep calling this cycle hope. Her father wanted people’s suffering to end; repeating his sacrifice will leave that suffering intact. She has no alternative plan yet. But her friends stand beside her—alive, afraid, and willing to face uncertainty together. Yunalesca prepares to kill them, believing death will spare them despair. Auron raises his sword and urges them to choose life and confront their sorrow. Yuna stands beside her guardians. Her refusal matters because nothing guarantees success. She chooses to protect the people beside her and search with them for a way forward.
