Mortal Kombat 1 - Sub Zero vs Scorpion

Remember… Scorpion facing his own brother, Sub-Zero, in Mortal Kombat 1? In this world, Scorpion is Kuai Liang, and Sub-Zero is his older brother, Bi-Han. Both are warriors of the Lin Kuei, but they see different futures for their clan. Kuai believes their duty is to protect Earthrealm; Bi-Han wants the Lin Kuei to gain power. When Bi-Han allies himself with Shang Tsung, Kuai realizes his brother has abandoned their oath. Then comes an even more painful revelation: Bi-Han admits he deliberately let their father, the former Grandmaster, die. He had lied when he told Kuai he had tried to save him. Kuai escapes captivity and reunites with Smoke. As they flee, Bi-Han catches up with them. The brothers clash outside the snow-covered fortress, fire meeting ice. Bi-Han cuts Kuai across the face, but Kuai ultimately wins and tears the emblem from his brother’s chest. He does not claim the title of Grandmaster. Seeing that Lin Kuei warriors remain loyal to Bi-Han, Kuai leaves with Smoke. Later, they establish the Shirai Ryu, a new clan dedicated to loyalty and the defense of Earthrealm. The scar on Kuai’s face marks the day he lost his brother and chose a path of his own.
