Naruto - Itachi Uchiha

Remember… Itachi sitting atop a utility pole, silhouetted against the moon as Sasuke returns home? The Uchiha district is strangely quiet. Sasuke walks familiar streets without hearing their ordinary sounds. He briefly notices his brother above him—then the pole is empty. At home, he finds an image he will never forget: his parents lying on the floor, Itachi standing beside them. It seems impossible. This is the older brother whose attention he always wanted, whose strength made him proud. Now that same brother must explain why nobody answers. Itachi speaks coldly. He claims he slaughtered the clan to test his abilities, then forces Sasuke to witness the massacre through genjutsu. He leaves his little brother with one purpose: grow stronger and seek revenge. Only later do we learn the concealed history—the planned coup, Danzo’s pressure, Obito’s involvement, and Itachi’s determination to spare Sasuke. That night, Sasuke knows none of it. The figure on the pole marks the boundary between trusting his brother and fearing him. Itachi’s silence conceals a terrible secret; Sasuke is left with a murdered family and hatred in its place.
