Naruto - Six Paths of Pain 3D panel

Remember… six Pains gathering before Jiraiya, each bearing the Rinnegan—yet none of them actually Nagato? They are corpses controlled remotely through black chakra receivers. Nagato shares their vision and assigns each a different ability. Deva Path — Yahiko. Nagato’s childhood friend and an original Akatsuki founder becomes Pain’s principal face after death. This body controls attraction and repulsion, using Shinra Tensei and Chibaku Tensei. Asura Path — an unnamed man. The anime depicts him as a wandering puppeteer during his lifetime. As Pain, his body produces mechanical weapons, additional arms, and missiles. Human Path — a Takigakure shinobi. He reads minds through physical contact and extracts souls. His name remains unknown. Animal Path — originally a Fūma-clan shinobi. After Jiraiya destroys this body, Nagato replaces it with a woman named Ajisai in the anime. This Path summons gigantic creatures. Preta Path — a Kusagakure shinobi. He absorbs chakra and chakra-based ninjutsu. His name is unknown. Naraka Path — an unnamed priest. He summons the King of Hell for interrogation and restoring damaged Paths. Their danger lies in cooperation: one attacks, another protects, another repairs. Behind six opponents stands one will—Nagato, speaking through the identity of Pain.
