One Piece - Luffy

Remember… Luffy leaving his home village in a tiny boat, wearing his straw hat and announcing that he will become King of the Pirates? Ten years earlier, he begged to join Shanks’s crew. Then Shanks lost an arm saving his life. Before leaving, he entrusted Luffy with his straw hat—a promise to return it when they met again as great pirates. Now seventeen, Luffy sets sail alone. The same sea monster that took Shanks’s arm rises near the shore. This time, Luffy stretches back his arm and punches it aside. Ahead lies an enormous ocean. He has no crew, no proper ship, and little understanding of navigation. Soon, a whirlpool turns his grand departure into a desperate escape inside a barrel. When he emerges, he finds himself caught up with Alvida’s pirates. There he meets Koby, a boy afraid even to admit his ambition. Luffy talks about becoming Pirate King with an assurance Koby has never allowed himself. His journey begins with a tiny boat, an enormous promise, and plenty he still needs to learn. Yet he already carries something that will change the lives of others: the courage to take a seemingly impossible dream seriously.
