One Piece - Luffy Bounty

Remember… Luffy’s heart finding a strange rhythm on Onigashima’s rooftop, before he suddenly starts laughing? Moments earlier, he lay motionless. Kaido was declaring victory while his friends continued fighting below. Now his heartbeat sounds like drums—and Zunesha recognizes the Drums of Liberation. Luffy’s hair turns white, and a cloudlike ribbon curls around him. Even he seems surprised: after everything he has endured, he can stand again. He feels capable of almost anything. He names this new state Gear 5. Then an enormous hand reaches through the rooftop, grabs Kaido’s dragon form, and hauls him upward. Luffy swings him around and slams him from side to side—the same opponent whose blows had seemed unstoppable. Kaido answers with a blast of fire. Luffy’s eyes bulge in cartoonish surprise. Instead of running, he grabs the ground. The stone stretches like rubber as he pulls it upward into a shield, bouncing the fiery attack straight back at Kaido. Danger remains, but the fight now follows Luffy’s imagination. His laughter feels like the joy of being alive again. In a country crushed beneath Kaido’s rule, his return makes room for play, resistance, and freedom—and gives everyone waiting below another reason to hope.
