One Piece - Nico Robin

Remember… Robin standing on the balcony at Enies Lobby, with the Straw Hats lined up on the rooftop opposite her? They have come to bring her back, but she keeps telling them to leave. Hunted since childhood, Robin believes that anyone who stays beside her will suffer. After losing Ohara and surviving years of betrayal, she would rather surrender her life than lose the friends she has finally found. Spandam points to the World Government’s flag. Protecting Robin means challenging everything it represents. Luffy orders Sogeking to burn it. A flaming shot crosses the gap. The flag catches fire. Robin stares: her friends understand the danger, and none of them steps back. Then Luffy demands that she say she wants to live. Her expression crumples. Through tears, she finally cries out: “I want to live! Take me out to sea with you!” Years of loneliness break through in those words. By asking them to save her, Robin finally allows herself to believe that she has somewhere to return to—and people who want her there.
