The Amazing Spider-Man 2 - Peter and Gwen

Remember… Gwen falling through the clock tower in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and Peter firing one last web to catch her? Earlier, Peter and Gwen fight Electro together. The danger seems to have passed when Harry Osborn arrives as the Green Goblin. He realizes who is behind Spider-Man’s mask, seizes Gwen, and carries her to the clock tower. Peter follows to save her. Inside the tower, among turning gears and enormous clock hands, he fights Harry. Gwen falls, but Peter catches her with a web, holding her suspended for a moment. The fight continues, and the clock’s machinery severs the web. Gwen falls again. Peter dives after her without hesitation. He reaches out, but the distance between them is too great. At the last instant, he fires a web. It stretches toward Gwen, almost taking the shape of a hand, and catches her. Peter reaches the floor and gathers her motionless body in his arms. He calls her name and begs her to wake up, but she cannot answer. His web reached her, yet it could not stop her fall in time. Gwen’s loss devastates Peter: he fought with everything he had to save her and still arrived too late. He is left alone in the tower, holding the person he loved.
