The Last Of Us TV Show - Joel and Ellie 3D panel

Remember… Joel and Ellie finding a giraffe in a ruined city, and Ellie laughing like a child again? They are heading toward the hospital in Salt Lake City. After her ordeal with David, Ellie is unusually quiet. Joel tries talking, but she seems lost in her thoughts. Inside a building, their path is blocked. Joel boosts Ellie up to lower a ladder. Suddenly, she spots something, drops the ladder, and runs. Alarmed, Joel follows. A giraffe stands beside an opening in the wall, eating the vegetation growing around the building. Joel hands Ellie some leaves and encourages her to feed it. The giraffe reaches forward, takes them with its long tongue, and Ellie laughs. Joel smiles at the delight returning to her face. They follow it to a balcony overlooking several giraffes wandering peacefully through the greenery. Joel offers to turn back and return to Tommy’s. But Ellie wants everything they have endured to mean something. For a few minutes, joy finds room beside her pain. For Joel, the encounter offers a glimpse of the life with Ellie he has come to cherish.
