The witcher - Geralt 3D panel

Remember… Geralt finding Ciri on the Isle of Mists, only for her to remain motionless? He has followed her trail through cities, questioned strangers, and pursued every clue. Finally, Avallac’h’s magical firefly guides him through the mist to a hut. The dwarves sheltering inside tell him the girl is dead. Geralt enters. Ciri lies on a bed. He approaches, touches her face, and waits for a response. Nothing. Slowly, he sits beside her. Throughout his search, there was always another step to take. Now she is within reach, and he seems powerless to change anything. He lifts her into his arms and holds her, his head bowed. His sword and knowledge offer no help. He can only embrace the girl he travelled so far to save. Then the firefly enters the room and passes into Ciri’s body. She stirs, opens her eyes, recognizes Geralt, and embraces him. She was never dead. Avallac’h placed her in an enchanted, death-like sleep to conceal her from the Wild Hunt. Within seconds, Geralt’s farewell becomes a reunion with his daughter. The scene’s power lies in that silence: his greatest fear seems real, until her movement changes everything.
